Background:

Buddu Broadcasting services Ltd is incorporated as a private limited company. In May 2001, the company opened up Radio Buddu as its first radio station. Operating on a frequency Modulation (FM) of 98.8 from Masaka, the station positioned its self as a rural/ Peri-Urban station in the central region of Uganda to cover the districts of Masaka, Rakai, Sembabule, Mbarara, Kalangala and Mpigi.

With the company’s growth strategy, a 5kw transmitter was installaled in 2003 to boast radio coverage. In 2005 the company obtained another frequency modulation of 95.5 to effectively transmit in Kampala and her neighboring districts. To date the Radio station covers twenty districts using 98.8 FM and 95.5 FM i.e. Masaka, Rakai, Sembabule, Mbarara, Kalangala, Rakai, Lyantonde, Mityana, Mubende, Mpigi, Kalangala, Kampala, Mukono, Kayunga, Nakasongola, Luwero, Jinja, Iganga, Kamuli, Bugiri, and Mayuge .

Currently, BBS has its Head Office situated in Masaka. This also houses the transmission studios. A liaison office exists too in Kampala that too houses a studio for talk shows in done in Kampala.
